QNAP NAS recovery
QNAP units use Linux RAID with storage pools, thin volumes and snapshots on QTS, or ZFS on QuTS hero models.
What we recover
QNAP units use Linux RAID with storage pools, thin volumes and snapshots on QTS, or ZFS on QuTS hero models. We recover after storage pool errors, failed RAID migrations, firmware updates gone wrong, and ransomware such as Qlocker and DeadBolt that targeted QNAP boxes.
Models
TS-231P, TS-251+, TS-253D, TS-431P, TS-451+, TS-453D, TS-464, TS-873, TS-h886, TVS-672XT, TS-1635, and every other QNAP model.
How we do it
We use PC-3000 systems from ACE Lab, the professional standard for data recovery labs. PC-3000 lets us repair a drive’s firmware through its service area, read damaged drives one head at a time, and copy weak drives slowly and safely without stressing them. Physical repairs such as replacing read/write heads are done in our clean room in central London, so the drive never leaves our lab.
Each disk is imaged with PC-3000 first; any failed disk is repaired in the clean room. The volume is then rebuilt from the copies, so your original disks are never written to.
Before you send it: power the unit down, don’t initialise, repair or re-create anything, and label each disk with its bay number.
