What we recover
Drobo used its own BeyondRAID system, which spreads data across mixed-size disks in a way no other device or software understands. Drobo is no longer made or supported, so when a Drobo fails there is no replacement unit to move the disks into. We rebuild the BeyondRAID layout from images of the disks to get the files back. Keep the disks in their order and don't put them in another Drobo.

Drobo (2nd and 3rd generation), Drobo S, Drobo FS, Drobo 5D, 5D3, 5C, 5N, 5N2, 8D, B800fs, B810n, B1200i, and every other Drobo model.
How we do it
We use PC-3000 systems from ACE Lab, the professional standard for data recovery labs. PC-3000 lets us repair a drive’s firmware through its service area, read damaged drives one head at a time, and copy weak drives slowly and safely without stressing them. Physical repairs such as replacing read/write heads are done in our clean room in central London, so the drive never leaves our lab.
Each disk is imaged with PC-3000 first; any failed disk is repaired in the clean room. The volume is then rebuilt from the copies, so your original disks are never written to.
Before you send it: power the unit down, don’t initialise, repair or re-create anything, and label each disk with its bay number.
