LaCie 2big, 5big & d2 recovery
LaCie multi-disk units are popular with photographers and video editors and are often set up as RAID 0 for speed, so one failed disk takes everything with it.
What we recover
LaCie multi-disk units are popular with photographers and video editors and are often set up as RAID 0 for speed, so one failed disk takes everything with it. We image both disks, repair the failed one in the clean room, and rebuild the set.
Models
LaCie 2big Dock, 2big RAID, 2big Thunderbolt, 5big Thunderbolt, 6big, 12big, 5big Network, d2 Professional, d2 Quadra, Rugged, and every other LaCie model.
How we do it
We use PC-3000 systems from ACE Lab, the professional standard for data recovery labs. PC-3000 lets us repair a drive’s firmware through its service area, read damaged drives one head at a time, and copy weak drives slowly and safely without stressing them. Physical repairs such as replacing read/write heads are done in our clean room in central London, so the drive never leaves our lab.
Each disk is imaged with PC-3000 first; any failed disk is repaired in the clean room. The volume is then rebuilt from the copies, so your original disks are never written to.
Before you send it: power the unit down, don’t initialise, repair or re-create anything, and label each disk with its bay number.
