Synology NAS recovery
Synology boxes use Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR) or standard RAID, with Btrfs or ext4 volumes.
What we recover
Synology boxes use Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR) or standard RAID, with Btrfs or ext4 volumes. We recover from "volume crashed" and "degraded" states, failed repairs after a disk swap, deleted shared folders, and encrypted shared folders when you have the key. We read the disks directly, so a dead Synology unit doesn't matter.
Models
DS218, DS218+, DS220+, DS224+, DS418, DS420+, DS918+, DS920+, DS923+, DS1517+, DS1621+, DS1817+, DS1819+, DS1821+, RS818+, RS1221+, and every other Synology model.
How we do it
We use PC-3000 systems from ACE Lab, the professional standard for data recovery labs. PC-3000 lets us repair a drive’s firmware through its service area, read damaged drives one head at a time, and copy weak drives slowly and safely without stressing them. Physical repairs such as replacing read/write heads are done in our clean room in central London, so the drive never leaves our lab.
Each disk is imaged with PC-3000 first; any failed disk is repaired in the clean room. The volume is then rebuilt from the copies, so your original disks are never written to.
Before you send it: power the unit down, don’t initialise, repair or re-create anything, and label each disk with its bay number.
