WD My Cloud NAS recovery
Single-bay My Cloud and My Cloud Home boxes store data in a format that a normal computer can't read, and My Cloud Home has no way to reach files once the box itself fails.
What we recover
Single-bay My Cloud and My Cloud Home boxes store data in a format that a normal computer can't read, and My Cloud Home has no way to reach files once the box itself fails. In 2021 many My Book Live owners lost data to a remote factory reset; if yours was wiped, switch it off and send it to us. We recover from the disk directly.
Models
My Cloud (single bay), My Cloud Home, My Cloud Home Duo, My Book Live, My Book Live Duo, My Cloud EX2 Ultra, EX4100, PR2100, PR4100, DL2100, and every other WD My Cloud model.
How we do it
We use PC-3000 systems from ACE Lab, the professional standard for data recovery labs. PC-3000 lets us repair a drive’s firmware through its service area, read damaged drives one head at a time, and copy weak drives slowly and safely without stressing them. Physical repairs such as replacing read/write heads are done in our clean room in central London, so the drive never leaves our lab.
Each disk is imaged with PC-3000 first; any failed disk is repaired in the clean room. The volume is then rebuilt from the copies, so your original disks are never written to.
Before you send it: power the unit down, don’t initialise, repair or re-create anything, and label each disk with its bay number.
